Crossrail Place Roof Garden

The World Garden Schools patch in Crossrail Place Roof Garden is owned by the Canary Wharf Group and was previously maintained by the Isle of Dogs Allotment.

In November 2023, this patch (below) will undergo a complete redesign by World Garden Schools to transform it into a learning garden for the community that lives in and around Canary Wharf.

The objectives of the World Garden Schools patch in the Crossrail Place Roof Garden are:

  1. To demonstrate Earth Care by showcasing seed-growing, plant-growing and composting activities;
  2. To celebrate local residents’ cultures and heritage by growing plants commonly used in their cuisines, and by providing information and recipes relating to those plants;
  3. To foster community spirit (People Care and Fairer Share) through the Community Table and events, bringing people together in this nurturing space.

These are the main features planned:

  1. An up-to-date webpage (access via a QR code) detailing what is happening currently, including educational events and meet-ups, to bring a community together;
  2. A small Community Table for seed exchange and free baby plants;
  3. Learning activities for children related to the plants growing in the patch.
